Good price, validation took a bit

I purchased an EssentialSSL certificate for my small business website last week. The price was really competitive, much better than some other providers I checked. Validation took about 24 hours, which was a little longer than I hoped for, but nothing major. The certificate works fine now. The site itself was easy enough to navigate.

Reliable for renewals

This is my third time renewing my Wildcard SSL through SSLs.com. Every time, the process has been pretty smooth. I usually buy the multi-year option for the extra savings, which is always good. Their renewal reminders are helpful without being annoying. This time was no different, everything went as expected. They've been consistent, which is why I keep coming back instead of trying elsewhere. Installation support was also good the very first time I used them, so that was a plus.

Decent value for PositiveSSL

I was looking for the cheapest SSL certificate I could find for a new personal project, and SSLs.com came up. I ended up getting a PositiveSSL. The first-year offer was pretty good, it felt like I got a solid deal compared to prices I saw on other sites. The checkout was straightforward, and I had the certificate ready to install within a few hours after I submitted everything. For the price I paid, I can't really complain. It was worth it for my budget. I didn't need any fancy features, just basic encryption, and this fit the bill perfectly.

Anyone know if I can use more than one promo code? I have one for a new customer thing and another for a specific cert type.

L Laura Reyes 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure it's just one coupon per order. I tried to stack two discounts during Black Friday and it only let me use one.

They only let you use one code at checkout, unfortunately. You have to pick the best one for your purchase.

I'm between these guys and Namecheap for a PositiveSSL. Anyone got experience with both? Which is better for a basic site?

J Josh G. 1 month ago
I've used both. For a basic PositiveSSL, SSLs.com is often cheaper, especially if you catch a promo. Namecheap is fine too, but I usually compare prices. Service-wise they're both pretty similar for basic certs.

I went with SSLs.com for my last PositiveSSL because it was a few bucks less. The setup was straightforward, no issues.

Are these certs legit? Like, will they work on all browsers and not give people warnings?

F Faith Nguyen 1 month ago
Yeah, they're totally legit. They sell Sectigo and Comodo certs, which are big names in the industry. Browsers trust them no problem.

Can confirm, all good. Never had an issue with browser trust. Way cheaper than going direct sometimes too.

Hey, thinking of getting a wildcard cert. how long does it usually take for them to validate everything? need it up asap.

M Mike Hughes 1 month ago
From my experience, validation times can vary a bit depending on the cert type and if they need more info. For a wildcard it might be a day or two if all your docs are in order. I think DV certs are super fast but others take longer.

Yeah, it's not instant like some domain validation ones. I got an EV cert from them last year and that took almost a week with all the back and forth. A wildcard should be quicker than EV but not instant.

thinking of signing up for a few years to get that discount. but what if i change my mind or my project goes sideways? is there a refund policy?

B Ben Q. 2 months ago
They have a money-back guarantee, I think it's 30 days. So if you decide it's not for you within that time, you can get your money back. I used it once when I accidentally bought the wrong one.

Yeah, there's a refund window. I haven't used it myself, but it's there. Just make sure to read the terms on their site for the exact period.
